se that seem to think Paul is a pro in disguise, please realise the following. - Bath Opera is an amateur opera company staging a small number of productions a few times each year. - Paul has performed in just 4 four productions with this company - Paul has attended some masterclasses in Italy. The
se courses are designed for talented amateurs. All of these are paid for by those attending. - A few masterclasses, even one with the great man do not constitute "a formal opera training" by any stretch of the imagination. - Professional opera singers earn their living by treading the boards night a
fter night week-in week-out, year after year with professional opera companies. - Paul, has never earned a single penny from opera performance, other than winning a tv talent show in 1999 - the winnings funding masterclasses. - Paul has not performed since 2003. - He is not a professional opera sin
ger pretending to be a mobile phone sales man, but rather he is a mobile phone salesman aspiring to be an opera singer. - An operatic voice IS a trained voice. Hmmmm, perhaps if I can buy a few classes at a pro cookery school, I can pass myself off as a highly experienced pro chef.....hmmmmm......

I think you should go and see how great Paul Potts is before you go make comments like that.
What I saw in a concert was one of best, neverm mind your 500 tenors.
You say you you know these things, yet so much in to Eric Clapton.
Paul is here not selling cars like you quoted, selling phones, and now on world stage 3 yrs on getting wide applause still.
You say constructive, not your comment.
´t wrong what you´re saying about true emotional singing but if do professional singing, you have to work on a balance of emotion and controlled technique, otherwise you won´t survive on stage for more than 20 years- Paul don´t need that because his technique isn´t stable enough to convince con
ductors and art-directors, so he can concentrate only on emotional singing...now everyone can dicide, if its dainty enough for him or not.
Pavarotti is in another universe as you said, because he is no longer with us.
I don't know where he is now, though you sound as if you do, because you are saying what Paul should and shouldn't do for a living.
Go and watch your 500 better tenors, and leave us to enjoy the one WE prefer.
Good day mate.
£500k a year and probably ownes most of the expensive phones he sold lol
